    Duvet Cover Essex Dress

What a find this $2 second hand duvet cover was! I was drawn to the color combo…pink and orange are such a chic combo!

I decided to turn it into a spring Essex Dress because the fabric was really soft and with the pullover style of the Essex, I knew it’d be one I’d get a lot of wear out of.

I chose the long puffed sleeve style as opposed to the flutter sleeve and also sewed in the pockets! I added a neon green bias tape to the back neck finish for a pop of color.

I’m wearing it with Birkenstocks as well as sneakers (comfort) 🙂 But I could definitely dress it up with ballerina flats or even a heeled sandal.

I hope my dress inspires you to take a peek at your local second hand store – maybe there is a duvet cover waiting for you to make an Essex dress 🙂 Tag me over on Instagram @sewingandthecity if you do!
