The Essex PDF Pattern Spotlight
I’m so excited to share a round up of me-made versions of my latest PDF pattern, the Essex. My Essex dresses are on heavy rotation in my wardrobe, and I can’t stop with planning for more… Psst. think colour-blocking!!
The construction of the Essex is simple, it’s a pull-over style so there’s no zipper or buttons (yipee!). In design and testing, we took the neckline up and down and up again, finally landing on it’s bra-friendly front dip. The flutter sleeves give you a structured shape while also providing just a bit of arm coverage. Oo, and it has pockets too 😉
Since the launch of the pattern, I have been amazed by your makes! So, I figured I would gather up a few of my favorites to get your creative juices flowing! Check them out below!
Cassie
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the Essex dress practically begs you to make it in one of those scroll-stopping prints you’ve admired and Cassie is here to prove just that. Cassie was the first person to share with me her finished make and my jaw literally dropped…I mean wow! Be sure to check out more of Cassie’s super cool makes on her Instagram: @cassie.nicole.creates.
MorganLee
I absolutely love MorganLee’s Essex Dress. The boldness of the blue is so statement, and so luxe! I’ve also been waiting for the weather to cool down a little (endless summer problems) to finally be able to pair my latest Essex with a leather jacket and boots!

Julia
If it’s not enough to look stylish all by your lonesome, who is better to go samesies with than your BFF? @stichandlemons and her friend celebrated a birthday with sewing together the Essex dresses, and then wearing them out together the next day. So gorgeous!
Julia’s Essex top
Not only did Julia make matching Essex dresses with her friend. She also made a hacked Essex shirt! I am OBSESSED, and also very much disappointed that I don’t have one.. (quickly checks stash for a last minute sew!)
Shannon
Shannon made a Essex dress out of a fun printed fabric she had in her stash! The fabric is soft and drapey making it the perfect dress for Summer. Styled to be classy and chic in her signature style👏🏼👏🏼 Instagram: @indoorshannon
Tracey
Tracey’s finished Essex dress is so beautiful in this gorgeous fabric. I am in awe! It’s absolutely blueee-tiful! Okay, I will stop now. But be sure to check out Tracey’s gorgeous feed on Instagram and her Youtube channel!
The Essex pattern is a layered-by-size PDF pattern that comes in A0 and tiled printing options in sizes 0-20.
